How Social Bookmarking is Supposed to Work

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

So last week I was browsing through my delicious network and came across something interesting I thought I’d share.
I’ve mentioned why you should be looking at other people’s bookmarks before (see I’ve got a Link Blog, and Why You Should Care). So I have my “inbox” and “network” in my RSS reader so I can see when people bookmark interesting things. Last week Todd bookmarked Your Information Business Model (Part Two) | Tubetorial. Now despite having a very predictable web 2.0 design the content from the video was actually informative. I went to the homepage they looked a little new but I checked out a few of the other videos. I really liked Trademark Law and Your Blog Domain Name so I bookmarked that one as well. That’s the way social bookmarking is supposed to work. No one had to send around these “hey check this out” emails or put up some regurged news. I saw it come in the title looked interesting and I checked it out.
